Gran Turismo 4 was one of the most anticipated games on PS2. Announced in 2003 for the first time, the game was scheduled to be released in 2004 in Japan (and in Europe seems the prologue). In Europe it was released in March 2005. The success of the game was considered as Sony in 2005 to edit an HD remake of the game Gran Turismo HD (GT and GT HD Vision in 2006) on future PS3. This project was not followed, except the GT HD Concept demo. The game was also to serve as a basis for Gran Turismo Mobile, expected to launch the PSP. This project has been replaced by an own episode to the PSP released in 2009
